Lisa Lawrence is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience working in the behavioral health field. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and from Saint Louis University with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Lisa has worked primarily in inpatient and outpatient settings where she provided individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and adults. In each of those settings, she gained invaluable knowledge and acquired skills that have shaped her approach to client care and engagement.
Lisa believes every client should be met with a welcoming, safe, supportive, validating, and encouraging environment. Her goal is to create a collaborative relationship with her clients and help them to feel safe to explore challenges, identify barriers to wanted change, and develop mutually agreed upon goals.
She has found her clients are responsive to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. However, she is also familiar and comfortable with the implementation of different approaches to meet the individualistic needs of clients.
Lisa is honored to be invited into your life at a time when it may be difficult to let people in. Her hope is that you leave therapy prepared with adaptive resources and concrete skills that will aid you in your continued self-discovery and growth.
